Release Notes: v. 0.2.9

I'm really getting excited about where Knaves is going. I've worked out new routines for the computer AI and will be implementing them in version 0.3.0. Version 0.3.0 is also going to include the (long-awaited) store. Of course, this post is about version 0.2.9, so I guess I better just list the changes for the current version. =)

  • Cleaned up the quick battle screen a bit.
  • Changed the "go" button to a check mark (easier in case I eventually offer the game in other languages).
  • Made it so the "go" button only activates once you have all your cards assigned to either attack or defense.
  • Added the 4 different backgrounds. Thanks to Chai for the art!
  • Hid your enemy's actions from you. This should ramp up the challenge a bit, and leads into the new betting system that is coming.

Right now the enemy simply doesn't make their move until after you do, so if you are used to waiting to see what the enemy does, you'll be waiting a long time. I am playing with some methods of making this all more obvious for the next release.

 

Release Notes: v. 0.2.8

This version simply brought the look and feel of the game in line with the website. Many elements had their positions changed so the screen no longer matches what is available in the help files. I apologize for this, and will be updating the documentation shortly.

  • Changed game background
  • Changed Quick Battle background
  • Changed the default background and text colours for speech bubbles
  • Changed the speaker on the main page to be something a little more human, and hopefully a bit more appealing
  • Changed the look of the prize window
  • Changed the background, text colour, and rollover colours on menu items

 

Release Notes: v. 0.2.7

This version has been mostly about balance and laying the groundwork for upgrading weapons and other equipment. New backgrounds are coming, and there is a lot of game-play balancing coming over the next few days.

  • Added monster weapon and defense displays.
  • Started balancing player weapons and monster strengths.
  • Added resource prize images and background.
